Over a number of years, the structure of Network Rail has changed and expanded, resulting in underutilisation of the available audio visual and videoconferencing systems.
Network Rail wanted to expand staff awareness of video conferencing resources and to achieve reduction in travel costs as part of a commitment to their environmental policy.
AVM were employed to carry out an audit to establish a network wide directory of existing video conferencing systems and collate details on these sites. The findings enabled AVM to ensure that all the units were functioning and fully maintained under a universal support contract.
AVM also identified key growth potential and suggested means of enhancing video conferencing utilization, to lower costs and in time reduce Network Rail's carbon footprint.
