BT WholesaleAudio Visual Machines installed and integrated the audio visual equipment in BT Wholesale’s 21st Century Networks showcase on behalf of conceptual design company Park Avenue. The room consists of two areas - a mobile projection and display pod system, and a 61” NEC plasma display supported by four Samsung LCD screens mounted into a central feature column.
A Kramer VP88 matrix switcher is housed into the central column feature. The switcher distributes a selection of four laptop input points located in the central feature, and a resident PC housed in the 42U Prism equipment rack. The selected signal can then be displayed in any configuration onto any of the selected screens around the central feature and the 61”NEC plasma display. All the static room displays and lighting features, with 37 different lighting presets, are controlled using Creston’s CT1000 touch panels, in conjunction with the AV2 Processor. The AV2 control system produces a discrete, user friendly system that gives intuitive ease of use, and control of the presentation environment. A Harmon Kardon amplifier and speakers provide excellent surround sound complementation for the 61” NEC plasma screen, and the Shure wireless microphone systems provide a full PA back up system, finishing off the room to a very high specification. |

There are four mobile demonstration pods each housing two Samsung LCD screens and two of the pods also house Sanyo PLC XU50 projectors. The demonstration pod units are connected via sub floorbox connections over a cat5 AV network. The projection pods are able to project an image selected from a Kramer 4x4 matrix switcher from a choice of four PCs located within the units. The image is then projected onto the rear side of the audio pod units, where speakers located in the bottom section of the audio pod units relay the PC presentation audio via the cat5 audio receivers. The master projection Pod is able to send a PC presentation over the cat5 network using cat5 VGA and audio transmitters and receivers, to the slave projection pod, and a simultaneous projection show can be displayed on the room walls using the two projection pods in a side by side configuration producing two 120” displays.
